Spreading the message and inspiring action to solve the climate crisis.

Taylor Francis was trained personally by Al Gore as part of The Climate Project to speak about the climate crisis around the world. At 14, the high school freshman was the youngest trained out of more than thousands of applicants. Now 17, he has done more than 50 presentations to over 20,000 people, talking about how we all can take steps to solve this crisis. He visited China in June to speak to thousands of people in Shanghai and Beijing under the auspices of the Ministry for Environmental Protection. He is now working with Mayor Gavin Newsom to speak to students in San Francisco's public schools. If you would like to schedule a talk, or learn more, contact him.

If one person can make a difference, Taylor Francis, 16, wants to be that person. He's taking the global warming warning door-to-door from the U.S. to China. "This problem is my problem," says Francis, who speaks with a precision that reminds me of, well, Gore, without the Tennessee twang. "It's not abstract for us. The effects will be felt in our lifetime."

.Climate change has particularly galvanized high school students. A 16-year-old in San Francisco, Taylor Francis, has been speaking to groups around the country about global warming; after some training by Al Gore, he is heading to China in June to give a dozen lectures there.

Previously, Francis wrote about genocide in Darfur and interviewed San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Gore for the school magazine he founded.
